Alginate is a non-toxic natural macromolecular materials, it can absorb up to 11 times its own weight in liquid. When alginate contacts with wound exudate, the calcium ion inside the absorbent pad will exchange with the sodium ion in the exudate, then forms hydrosoluble sodium alginate. It forces the exudate to enter the absorbent pad and then forms a layer of hydrogel membrane on the surface of wound. With its oxygen permeability the hydrogel membrane can prevent bacteria from entering wound, meanwhile it can promote creation of fresh skin tissue and accelerate wound healing through its moist substrate.
Alginate Adhesive Bandage Usage Method:
Generally speaking, if it’s only a slight skin scratch, you don’t need to use a band aid. Just smear it with iodine or alcohol to prevent infection. You can also apply a thin layer of purple medicine, so that after two or three days or so, the wound can scab and dry.
If the skin wound is relatively deep, and unconditional treatment, clean water should be used to wash the wound, and then simple bandage with wound dressing. But the time of the bag can’t be too long, it’s better not to exceed two days.
When using, tear off the package, apply the absorption pad in the middle to the wound, then tear off the covering film at both ends and fix the position with adhesive tape.
